Sydney Airport’s Airline Commercial Manager, Nigel Fanning, is this year’s champion in the 1st anna.aero 10km virtual running race, with a blistering 39 minutes 14 seconds on a 10km course on the airport’s premises.
“I deliberately planned a run from the international terminal to domestic and back, so as to get all the best angles of the airport and main runway – it’s a few minutes down on my personal best time of 35 minutes, but not bad for a lunch time run,” the fanatical 34-year-old Irish triathlete and ex-easyJet planner told anna.aero.
Fanning’s triumphant run this week completes a series of real running races completed all over the world in the last six weeks, and during the weekend of May 29-31, which have raised over $6,000 for the Anthony Nolan Trust – the bone marrow transplant charity which sourced an American donor for the daughter of anna.aero publisher, Paul Hogan, two years ago. “That is an absolutely fantastic total and we really do appreciate it – you must be very proud of yourselves and I know we are!” said Rebecca Highfield, Events Coordinator for the Anthony Nolan Trust.
