UAE (country regulation overview): New research report available at Fast Market Research

New Fixed Networks research report from Ovum is now available from Fast Market Research

June 13, 2010 - PRLog -- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) telecoms market is a duopoly, with incumbent Emirates Telecommunication Corporation (Etisalat) and Dubai-based Emirates Integrated Telecommunication (EITC) offering a full suite of fixed, mobile, and data services.

The regulator, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), has issued several regulations such as carrier pre-selection, carrier selection, local loop unbundling, and mobile number portability to encourage competition in the telecoms market. However, there have been ongoing delays in the implementation of many of these regulations at Etisalat's end and the lack of clarity in final implementation timelines could make for a challenging competitive landscape for other service providers.
