June 9, 2010 - PRLog -- Michael Gerber, author of The E-Myth: Why Most Small Businesses Don’t Work and What to Do About it, and founder of E-Myth Worldwide, joins Jason Hartman of the Creating Wealth Show in podcast #161 for a discussion about creating an intelligent system for your business so that it works and you don’t have to. Michael explains that 80% of businesses fail yet people continue to start them due to the fact that the majority of startup business owners are “technicians” who are burned out on working for someone else. Throughout the process of building the business system, the startup is the prototype and not a place to go to work for the entrepreneur.

During this episode, Michael and Jason talk about how employees, in a failing business, are able to take too much of the business with them once they leave strictly because a system did not exist that could have been learned to use by anyone. Michael, who is often referred to as “the world’s #1 small business guru,” explains that within a business lies an entrepreneur, a manager, and a technician. In a startup business, the technician has to take the leap to become the entrepreneur and a manager in order to build an intelligent system that grows the company.

E-Myth Worldwide, founded in 1977, launched a program in late 2005 named the Dreaming Room which focuses on developing new and existing startups. The Dreaming Room aims to teach people the skills of a successful entrepreneur and how to sustain a business. Given that teaching is a major proponent to E-Myth Worldwide, Michael states that a person striving to become an entrepreneur must have three books in their library: The E-Myth: Revisited, Awakening the Entrepreneur Within and The Most Successful Small Business in the World.
