June 9, 2010 - PRLog -- Gua Sha (pronounced "gwa shaw,") is an East Asian healing technique. Gua means to scrape or rub. Sha is a 'reddish, elevated, millet-like skin rash' (aka petechiae). Sha is the term used to describe Blood stasis in the subcutaneous tissue before and after it is raised as petechiae. Gua Sha is one technique that intentionally raises Sha rash or petechiae.  It is used to break down the scar tissue that has occured due to trauma or overuse injuries.

Charlotte Chiropractor, Dr. Alec Khlebopros, uses this technique to restore elasticity in the tendons and some ligaments to help with faster healing time.  Along with the proper adjustment to the specified area, this techniques allows Dr. Alec Khlebopros to get the athlete or everyday person back to their activity of choice.
