Saint Arnold Brewing Co. to Celebrate Anniversary with Sweet 16 Party

June 9, 2010 - PRLog -- HOUSTON – Saint Arnold Brewing Company (www.saintarnold.com), the oldest craft brewery in Texas, will celebrate the 16th anniversary of the delivery of its first keg this weekend, joined by its loyal customers at the brewery on the northern edge of downtown Houston. The event will feature the third annual Saint Arnold Olympics, which pits eight 2-person teams against each other in three fun contests.

The past year, during which brewing operation moved to a new brewery in a historic building near the city's business center, has recalled much about the start-up of 16 years ago as Saint Arnold commissioned its new brewery.

“Building the new brewery took more work, more money and a lot more time than building our original brewery 16 years ago,” said founder and brewer Brock Wagner. “Anniversaries like this make you appreciate all the hard work our crew has put in and the loyal support of our many customers that has made all of this possible.”

The anniversary celebration will be at Saint Arnold’s brewery at 2000 Lyons Avenue in Houston on Sunday, June 13.The big event of the day will be the third annual Saint Arnold Olympics. Eight 2-person teams will compete in three events: the deceptively difficult Keg Roll through an obstacle course, the crowd pleasing 2-story Beer Pour and a lightning round of Beer Pong, each of which offers great photo opportunities.

“Since we began brewing in 1994, our community has been here to help and encourage us every step of the way,” Wagner said. “Historically breweries have been community oriented businesses and this is our way of recognizing and celebrating that bond.”
