June 8, 2010 - PRLog -- Red Cloud Pistachios is Heslop’s debut effort and is a story of family ties to the land and to one another — a story of life governed by the whims of weather and of circumstance.  Told in narrative and dialogue, major themes of alienation, abandonment, reconciliation and trust emerge as a man struggles with the guilt of his past — and his son with the resentment he has been left to live with or to overcome.  Red Cloud evokes a smaller time; a town where the hardware man has anything you need if you wanted it yesterday; where an eclectic cast of characters find common ground and even a sense of family in one another’s eccentricities.  It is, as in Rory’s own story, “a fabrication as complicated as any real life might have been.”  Set on a pistachio farm in southeastern Arizona, drifting for a time into Sonora, Mexico, Red Cloud Pistachios shows us the capacity of people to hope for the best in others and, ultimately, to accept what they get.

The author is a 25-year veteran of the advertising industry.  Over the course of his tenure he has earned numerous regional and national honors, including a regional Emmy Award for broadcast promotion, and national Best of Category for transit.  In 2000, he moved from Boston, MA to Tucson, Arizona with his wife.  Then in 2008, he left advertising to focus on writing fiction.  He is currently at work on a follow-up novel to Red Cloud Pistachios, as well as a third, unrelated novel.

Red Cloud Pistachios is currently available on the popular eBook sites Smashwords.com and Amazon's Kindle Books.  As demand for, and popularity of, electronic books and readers grows, these two reader resources have become first stops for quality eBooks.  With the additional distribution to the wildly popular iPad, Kobo, Sony, and Barnes & Nobel, this character-driven novel will be available on virtually every major eReader.
