Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty (DGSIR), one of the nation’s leading realtors, recently sent two of its top executives, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Tom Calabrese and Senior VP of Marketing and Technology James P. Retz, to a gathering of top industry executives from the largest residential real estate companies in North America in Fort Worth, Texas. While there, the two joined in the discussion of pressing industry issues, shared best practices among the attendees and heard presentations on new technology initiatives for real estate.
“One of the most important ways in which a real estate organization can serve its clients and customers is to be on the cutting edge of technology and other pertinent issues,” said Jim Retz. “Through these established and emerging technologies we are able to most effectively market properties to critical mass of qualified buyers.”
Among the speakers at this summit was U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, who provided the group with an update on legislative and regulatory debates in Washington, including financial reform, economic and housing incentives and other policies under development that affect the real estate industry. Representatives from the Realtors Property Resource (RPR), FirstAmerican CoreLogic, Realtor.com, HouseLogic.com, BrokerTec and other major technology providers were on hand to demonstrate new products that are likely to change the face of the industry in coming months.
Jim and Tom also joined principals from other major companies in small-group settings to benchmark key indicators with the other firms, to share challenges, solutions and best practices with leaders of the best-run firms on the continent.
