Ft. Lauderdale, Florida – Gary Opper, 53, of Levie-Opper, LLC will appear in July on Coral Gables TV show “Coral Gables Now” to discuss how the mortgage industry has changed since the economy’s decline. Opper will speak with reporter Belkys Perez to discuss the areas of concern and finding solutions to the crisis.
Opper states, “The mortgage industry has drastically changed in the past few years. Many mortgage professionals are no longer in business and those that have remained need to address the new consumer protection laws.”
Gary Opper is the Managing Member of Levie-Opper, LLC, a forensic accounting practice. He has been a Certified Public Accountant for thirty (30) years and was a Tax Engagement Manager with KPMG Peat Marwick. Opper is qualified for expert testimony on numerous topics in several courts.
Opper has an accounting degree from the University of Florida and a Master of Science in Taxation from Florida International University. Opper has also been a mortgage lender since 1980. He is also President of Approved Financial Corporation, a licensed mortgage lender since 1994. Previously, he was President of another national mortgage lender from 1987 to 1994. Opper was recently appointed Vice President of the Alumni Association of the School of Accounting for Florida International University and is a life member of the National Eagle Scout Association.
Opper is the past President of a local chapter of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“FICPA”) and the Florida Association of Mortgage Brokers (“FAMB”). He was the FAMB’s “Broker of the Year” and the National Association of Mortgage Broker’s “Writer of the Year” and “Featured Writer of the Year.” He has written over 500 published articles on mortgage, real estate, financial, mortgage fraud, ethical and accounting topics.
