Excellent Start To The Season For Siddall & Hilton

June 8, 2010 - PRLog -- West Yorkshire, United Kingdom (May 31, 2010) - The SIDDALL & HILTON PRODUCTS LTD supported Mk1 Ford Escort rally team have made an excellent start to the 2010 season.

The crew finished 2nd in the up to 2 litre Post Historic class in The Bulldog Rally in Wales, and followed that by 1st in class and 2nd overall in the Pirelli Rally.

The car, driven by Andrew Siddall, together with navigator Colin Thompson have made a number of changes to the set up of the car which has improved their pace and competitiveness.

Between the Bulldog and Pirelli they have changed preparation company from XS Racing who have looked after the car for the last three years to Dansport.

Dansport have been very active in altering the suspension, the steering and the brakes. They also enlisted the help of three times British Rally Champion Mark Higgins to improve the set up. Mark has also given Andrew some driving and tactical tuition which has greatly helped his understanding of how to set good times.

Driver Andrew Siddall said: “We are delighted with the improvement. To finish a minute ahead of our class opposition and only 16 seconds behind a 3 litre Porsche in the overall positions is fantastic!

Credit is due to the coaching skills of Mark Higgins and the efforts of Dan Sutherland of Dansport.

We are optimistic of further improvements to the car.”

The next event for The Siddall & Hilton Products Ltd car is at The Severn Valley Stages on the 5th June. Coverage of this years’ championship rounds is being broadcast on Motors TV including ‘in-car’ footage.
