disOrienting Stage and Film Options Wilhelm's "Boys"

PRLog (Press Release) - Jun. 8, 2010 - disOrienting Stage and Film LLC today announced that it has optioned the theatrical feature rights to Le Wilhelm's play "Boys in the Backroom."  Playwright Wilhelm has been produced throughout the United States and Canada, including recent productions at New York City's 59E59 Theatres.  He has also enjoyed productions of his works internationally.  Published work includes the anthology "Eight Plays from the Heartland" and numerous anthologized one-acts.  

"Boys in the Backroom" examines the nature of evil in all of us, as seen through the eyes of its main character, Reba.  The events of a single fateful night unfold in Reba's memory as she recounts the story of a group of neighborhood men who commit a heinous act.  In opening doors that had better stayed locked, she assuages, if only briefly, her terrible loneliness.  

disOrienting Stage and Film LLC's Managing Member, Cynthia Granville, stars as Reba and will direct the feature.  Granville has appeared onstage in numerous Wilhelm stage productions including various versions of "Boys in the Backroom."  Other credits include "The Onion News Network" online and as featured on "CBS News Sunday Morning."  Granville recently completed the short film "In Memoriam" as director/screenwriter/editor.
