Alliance Reveals Artwork Chosen for Annual 2D/3D Exhibit at Opening Reception

June 7, 2010 - PRLog -- Three hundred pieces of artwork were entered in the Alliance for the Art’s 24th Annual 2D/3D All Florida Juried Competition. Fifty-two were chosen for the exhibit to be revealed at the Opening Reception on June 11th, from 5:00-7:30PM.  Awards for Best in Show, 2nd Place, 3rd Place and Jurors Choice will be announced, by 2010 Juror, Dana Roes at 6:00PM, during the opening reception.  The exhibition will be on display at the Alliance, June 11 - August 7, 2010.

The yearly competition begins in March with a “CALL FOR ARTISTS.” Specifications include that artwork cannot exceed 60 inches or 150 pounds, must be completed in the last two years and cannot have previously shown at the Alliance. Digital images of the artwork are submitted to Alliance’s Exhibition Coordinator, compiled onto a PowerPoint then submitted to a Juror.  

Serving as this year’s juror is Dana Roes, Professor of Art at Edison State College. Roes earned a Masters Degree of Fine Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelors Degree of Fine Arts from Moore College of Art. She exhibits nationally and internationally and is the recipient of several awards including a Fulbright Fellowship and New Jersey Council of the Arts Grant.
