Seattle Center and the Wallingford School of Oom Yung Doe are offering free outdoor classes every Tuesday June through August at 11:30 AM. This year the program will focus on Tai Chi and the lessons will be held at the North International Fountain Lawn. The classes are open to all ages and experience levels, and are ideal for neighborhood residents, downtown workers, and families.
Tai Chi is a form of Chinese exercise intended to improve health and well-being. Movements are slow and graceful without using force or power. The speed of the breathing matches the speed of the movement. By improving the respiratory and circulatory systems, basic joint and muscle flexibility, and overall muscle tone, Tai Chi helps to release stress which accrues in daily life.
Engaging in regular exercise is a positive activity for your life. However, common exercise methods offer limited development and can wear the body down over time. Oom Yung Doe training offers unlimited potential for development and will quickly begin to provide the deeper mental and spiritual benefits found only in traditional Moo Doe (martial arts).
• Oom Yung Doe also offers individual therapy and conditioning programs for any ailment or condition. Results are guaranteed.
• Training options now include specialized short programs.
• Private instruction is available – call for an appointment.
• Ask about group discounts.
