By: Hiromi Asai On June 6th, 2010, Japan Day, New York’s largest Japanese summer festival, was held at Central Park in New York City. On the event, Samurai Parade was demonstrated by more than 100 casts for the cerebration of the 150th anniversary. All the casts wore kimono and made a parade at Central Park in Samurai styles. Mode & Classic LLC proudly provided styling and background research for 3 ambassadors' kimono at Japan Day @ Central Park 2010 in NYC. We made the samurai style, similar as the traditional Japanese samurai style which excited enthusiasm in New Yorkers in 1860. 3 ambassadors in real samurai style paraded with more than 50 accompanied samurais. One of the 3 ambassadors was Mr. Shinichi Nishimiya, an Japanese ambassador and consul general in New York. All they got applause from many New Yorkers. # # # We create various fashion arts using Japanese fabrics and kimonos. We rent various kinds of kimono from huge collections. A wardrobe stylist Hiromi Asai (CEO of this company), provides fashion styling service featuring kimono on various occasions (ads, films, magazines). We also provide kimono lessons in New York City. We believe that kimono will be recognized as a universal formal wear that is beyond cultural and ethnic boundaries. We would like to contribute ourselves to the development of such movement, starting from New York City. End
