It’s not very common that a five-year-old has a published book out, but in the case of five-year-old Zachary Malott, his new children’s book, “Let’s Explore the California State Railroad Museum” is young Zachary’s seventh book in his ongoing “Let’s Explore” series.

In “Let’s Explore the California State Railroad Museum”, Zachary guides children through what many consider to be the finest train museum in North America, and possibly the world.  The museum is located in the old waterfront district in Sacramento, California and features over 100,000 square feet of beautifully restored locomotives, railroad memorabilia, and toy trains.

Zachary takes the reader on a tour of this amazing museum featuring color photos and easy to read and understand text, that will not only delight young readers but parents alike.  The book is the seventh release in young Zachary’s Let’s Explore series he writes with a little help from his dad.  Other titles in the series feature such locations as Boston, Hollywood, San Francisco, Berkeley, and more.

Zachary started putting out books when he was just three-years-old after he spent the summer as the waterboy for the Harvard University football team.  He released his first book, “I’m With The Team” and got it into several Boston bookstores, including The COOP which is the official bookstore of Harvard University.

Zachary chooses images, many taken by him, and arranges them into order.  He then works with his dad in adding text, which the two work on together.  The two use a print-on-demand service which allows them to put out books, while avoiding the high cost of large print runs.

Each of Zachary’s books is made available on Amazon.com.  One dollar from each sale of “Let’s Explore the California State Railroad Museum” will be donated to the museum.

Zachary also only recently released a book he co-authored with long time family friend, Leia Kaba entitled “The Streetcars of San Francisco”.  That book features most of San Francisco’s historic streetcar fleet and their history.
