June 4, 2010 - PRLog -- Chicago, IL… Cari Meyers, founder and CEO of The Puppy Mill Project announced today that her organization will be one of the pet friendly groups who will have a booth at 14th District State Rep Osterman’s unique “Furry Friends Summerfest.”

Furry Friends Summerfest will take place every Wednesday beginning June 9th  and will run through August 25th  at the corner of Thorndale and Broadway in Chicago, IL. The time for this unique pet friendly event is  5:30 PM through 8:PM .

The Puppy Mill Project will be providing some good information at its booth. The objective is to help educate Furry Friends Summerfest attendees about puppy mills and pet stores that sell dogs.

Chicago pet owners shouldn’t miss stopping by Furry Friends Summerfest.  They will have the opportunity to see what pet friendly businesses and organizations have to offer, and to become more knowledgeable about the products and services that are available for their pets. It can be a chance to find some good buys as well as learning valuable information about dogs and other pets.

The Puppy Mill Project is an Illinois 501(c)3 registered charity and was created in September of 2009 by Cari Meyers. The organization is a leader in the fight against puppy mills and the pet shops whose puppies originate from puppy mills.

One of the organization's primary missions is educating the public about what puppy mills really are and the direct connection to the pet stores, the internet ads and the newspaper ads that sell these puppies that come from "canine hell."

The Puppy Mill Project also supports state and federal legislation that protects dogs from the inhumane treatment they receive in puppy mills. Along with many community events they also organize demonstrations against businesses that sell puppy mill dogs. The organization's website is: www.thepuppymillproject.org
