June 4, 2010 - PRLog -- Professional rehabilitation is the key for people who are addicted to drugs and want to heal. There are many different types of drug rehab facilities in the United States, such as holistic, new age, traditional, secular and faith-based. Each treatment facility can tout a specialty area, make empty promises and claim extraordinary success rates, but none can match a Christian drug treatment program when it comes to acceptance and compassion.

No treatment center can possibly provide a substance abuser with help unless the person is ready to admit the problem and accept treatment. The main reason cited for refusing treatment is denial and fear, denying a problem with drugs does not make it go away; it only compounds the situation and allows the cycle of addiction to continue.

Any type of treatment center chosen should have a knowledgeable and trained staff ready to assist when and where needed. A Christian program knows that each person is unique and must receive specialized attention during the delicate process of recovery and healing. A faith-based treatment center will never force a patient to do something uncomfortable or require the person to convert to Christianity. The environment of a faith-based treatment center is one of total acceptance and nonjudgmental of anyone.

Care should be paid when the decision to receive drug treatment is made. Going to the wrong treatment facility can result in disaster and set the substance abuser back in the healing process. Some facilities can actually make the situation worse by not knowing how to properly care for and address the needs of a patient. Without a complete medical evaluation and consultation with a rehab specialist, a person will be unable to determine the proper course of treatment and not get the care they so desperately need.

A Christian drug treatment program knows about the apprehensions and fears that are faced by a substance abuser. Specially trained, compassionate counselors and therapists are on staff to consult with the patient and can prove an invaluable resource. From spiritual counseling, attending church services, Bible studies and incorporating Christian principles, a patient is given everything needed to move forward into a life of sobriety.

Many of the staff and specialists at a Christian drug program have personal experience with what drugs can do. Some of the staff may have been a victim of substance abuse and with the help of God, overcome the addiction and gone on to help others in the struggle against drugs. The main intent of both traditional and Christian-based drug treatment is to help the patient obtain the best possible outcome and go on to live a life free from the crippling affects of substance abuse.

Christian drug treatment is suited to help with any type of drug addiction and can help a recovery patient find God along the journey. By using the power of prayer, faith and hope as the main components of drug rehabilitation, many substance abusers have found the help needed to go on to live the life God intended.
