New Market Research Report: Egypt Commercial Banking Report Q3 2010

June 4, 2010 - PRLog -- The most recent official figures show that a recovery is well underway in Egypt's banking sector, with  solid outturns across a range of key indicators. We are confident that the sector is well placed to  outperform the rest of the region in future.  The recovery appears to be gaining traction since we last reported on Egypt's banking sector (see our  online service, February 1 2010, 'Loan Deals Show Recovering Confidence'), with solid outturns in a  number of indicators. The industry balance sheet expanded by 4.8% year-on-year (y-o-y) in H209 (the  period for which latest figures that are available) from a multiyear low growth rate of 3.7% in H208.    Asset, credit and deposit growth are picking up, liquidity is ample and capital adequacy is reasonably  healthy. Over the long term, we believe there is vast potential in the Egyptian banking sector based on our  positive outlook for the economy, a strong, improving business environment and its low exposure to the  global financial crisis. However, in the short term we remain concerned about the hidden perils in Egypt's  macroeconomic outlook, as well as risks stemming from the uncertain political environment.
