Spring EXPO 2010
On Thursday, May 20, 2010 in Sunnyvale, California, over 500 people gathered for the Plug and Play Expo, the premier Silicon Valley showcase introducing promising emerging technology companies.
Expo featured extreme elevator pitches from 40 startups in areas including Internet, media, software, mobile and wireless, social gaming and cleantech. This all-day event began with a panel examining how universities promote entrepreneurship and how venture capitalists and corporations contribute. Plug and Play has teamed up with PayPal to support and accelerate entrepreneurs developing on the PayPal’s X Platform, who presented at Expo.
Also featured were keynote addresses by Nandhu Nandhakumar, senior vice president of advanced technology, LG Electronics, and Mitchell Kertzman, managing director at Hummer Winblad Venture Partners.
The event brought together technology executives, entrepreneurs, key venture capitalists, angel investors, technology corporations, and the media. The one-day Expo was a blend of presentation sessions, one-on-one demonstrations, and networking in a highly interactive, intimate, relaxed atmosphere. Over 50 VCs and angel investors attended.
The investors are all given a chance to vote on their favorite pitches of the day. The winners for the Spring Expo 2010 were WaveSecure, Perspecsys, and MobilPay.
