June 3, 2010 - PRLog -- NEW YORK, June 3rd / Big Media’s terror go-to man, Sal Lifrieri, brings smarts and experience to the world of security. Lifrieri, president of Protective Countermeasures and Consulting, Inc., and former Director of Security and Intelligence Operations for NYC’s Office of Emergency Management, will be giving a seminar on domestic violence and stalking in the workplace.

“We’ve had the 9/11 experience. We know the threat of terrorism is all too real. However, there are other threats we need to address. For example, domestic violence and stalking puts individuals into a private world of terror. The toll from this has significant impact in the workplace. According to the United States Department of Justice there are over 130,000 people who lose their jobs because of it. That’s why we are giving a seminar on the topic.” said Lifrieri

The seminar will be held June 29th in New York City, at The Union League Club at 38 East 37th Street and begins at 8:00 AM. A full breakfast will be provided. The cost of the seminar is $149.95 Interested parties can find out more by calling (914) 576-8706. Coming to the seminar will give attendees the opportunity to meet Sal, who’s been interviewed on CNN, ABC, NBC, PIX and FOX.

Previously, Lifrieri enjoyed a 20 year career with the New York City Police Department, rising to the coveted rank of Detective First Grade.

Among Lifrieri’s credits, during his tenure with the NYPD, are his selection to the Hostage Negotiation Team, participation in the department’s elite Intelligence Division, leading of the Russian Organized Crime Project and appointment as leader of the Protective Operations Unit – charged with conducting threat assessments and threat investigations on the mayor, key elected officials and their families.

Lifrieri’s success is based on his comprehensive knowledge of the security field and, most importantly, his ability to channel that knowledge into meaningful action for his clients. At Sal’s seminar you’ll gain some of this knowledge and learn to put it to good use.

Seminar topics include:

•   Learn how domestic violence and stalking costs businesses millions of dollars a year and what companies and business owners, like you, can do about it.

•   Recognize when an employee has a problem at home that is being brought to the workplace. Learn how to handle a problem you may not even know exists!

•   Learn the proper responses in dealing with stalking... what works and what doesn't and develop strategies for your workplace.

•   Become privy to little talked about techniques law enforcement uses to protect high profile individuals and learn how they can be applied to you, your company and your employees.

•   Discover what elements are needed in a workplace violence plan to limit liability.

“Security starts with knowledge,” Lifrieri emphasizes.
