PRLog - Jun. 2, 2010 - LA QUINTA, Calif. -- Is your child the next Rachel Ray or Emeril Lagasse? Jump start your kids interest in the culinary arts at an early age at Cooking with Class in La Quinta (CA).

Cooking with Class is now enrolling for their exciting cooking camps for kids and teens.   There are eight sessions of 5-day cooking camps offered for kids ages 5 through 14, and classes are limited to 12.

The camps, now in their second year, are taught by professional chefs and are perfect for “epicurious” kids who love to cook or would like to learn.

Each camp culminates in a banquet thrown for parents on the last day of camp featuring food cooked by the kids.

Kids learn the fine art of cooking while also exploring other cultures and cuisines.  They learn about safety and sanitation, kitchen math and science, organizational skills, problem solving, etiquette and table manners, including how to set a table.

“Learning to cook helps kids develop better nutritional choices, which is so important in helping to combat the widespread childhood obesity problem in our country,” said Executive Chef and co-owner of Cooking with Class, Andie Hubka.  “We provide a fun and entertaining way to introduce kids to the kitchen.  It’s a unique alternative to your traditional summer camp.”

Tuition starts at $275 and includes daily hands-on cooking instruction, recipes to keep, a personalized apron, lunch and snacks each day and an adult admission to the Friday banquet prepared by the campers.  For more information or to register call:  (760) 777-1161.
