Computer Security - Antivirus, Firewall, and Spyware Detectors Are Easily Beaten By Hackers

Another option is to use bitlocker. It encrypts the entire hard drive. It is available from Microsoft, but you have to be running Windows Vista Enterprise or Ultimate edition (black boxed one) to use it.

June 1, 2010 - PRLog -- There are a lot of ways to get into a computer system : adware, malware, viruses, trojans, worms, rootkits, backdoors, open ports, and backdoors are just some of the ways people get into your data. Ever wondered why your computer is so slow? I downloaded Netdetector only to find 20,000 viruses on my computer. There were several backdoors, trojans, and even a keylogger. I called around to find out how people keep their data secure only to find out that real security experts are only for large companies with 100 or more computers. So, what can the average user do?

Reformat Hard Drive

I could not get many of the items off the computer. I decided to reformat. So, I backed up my data and reformatted the entire hard drive with a new version of windows completely updated. I have Mcafee on the front door and Netdetector for spyware. Within minutes of browsing with Internet Explorer, Netdetector found a rootkit and and a hard to remove trojans. Still, I lost so much valuable data from the malware, I was looking for something better. Keylogger companies actually guarantee that nobody can detect their software so I knew I must do better than a couple software packages.

IP Address: How Hackers Use It

Once the hackers get your ip address they send scripts to virus databases that constantly look for additional viruses to download. Some viruses are non detectable because they operate below the operating system. Almost every home user has some sort of malware on their computer. Once you are in the hacker loop, you can't stop them with McAfee, Norton or Symantec. Their whole profession is to get around these programs.

What Can You Do To Keep Out Hackers

There are solutions, but none of them are guaranteed. A combination of things will work the best.

Iron key is a USB device that encrypts your data and web browser. Third parties will not be able to see what you are doing on the internet. However, malware can still get downloaded on your computer and compromise security.

To stop malware, there is a program called Sandboxie. You can run your browser in the sandbox and any downloaded files can't be written to the operating system without your permission. This will keep rootkits at bay. Rootkits essentially hide other trojans and viruses from operating system detection. The combination of Iron Key and Sandboxie are a good combination. You should still use firewalls and spyware detectors to double check your system.
