IMD hosted the Women’s International Networking (WIN) Corporate Network Group Meeting on May 7, 2010. The participants, mostly women leaders working for international companies in the area, were able to take part in an interactive seminar on leadership that included a session on networking methodology by WIN Founder Kristin Engvig and a workshop by IMD Professor of Leadership and Organization Ben Bryant.
The seminar’s 30 participants all had the opportunity to learn from Ms. Engvig and WIN's networking strategy. She emphasized that, above all, networking begins by learning to listen to one another. The group was then given a chance to put it all into practice through facilitated networking.
Professor Bryant then discussed several challenges for women in leadership positions including ways in which women can become de-authorities. He encouraged participants to understand themselves in order to appropriately empower those around them.
The morning ended with lunch and the opportunity to discuss and reflect.
W.I.N. thanks IMD for hosting the event.
