Florida State Representative (and House Majority Leader) Adam Hasner (R) has just introduced the bill HB 879 – Financial Incentives for Electric Vehicles. WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS BILL? What are the local and state officials doing to in the face of this quasi criminal and definitely scandalous act against our ecosystem and the related industries? Why have our politicians and wallstreet / auto major players not done enough to get ElectricVehicles EV on America roads over the past 2 years when the technology was available that exist today? Here is state by state where we stood last year. Keep in my that the Government is finally getting its act together to judge by this announcement yesterday: "Republicans and Democrats agree that electrifying our cars and trucks is the single best way to reduce our dependence on oil," said Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn House and Senate members on Thursday released electric vehicle tax break....... Arizona Arizona offers a $75 tax credit to any taxpayer who installs EV charging outlets in their home. You can also park any alternative fuel vehicle in special parking spaces designated for carpool vehicles. California Electric car drivers in California may drive their vehicles in a HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle) lane without meeting the occupancy requirement.STATE TAX BREAK $5000. The city of Sacramento offers free parking for EV owners in some of their city parking lots. Vacaville offers incentives for buyers of battery electric cars. Hermosa Beach and Santa Monica offer free parking for EVs at city parking meters Colorado Colorado offers a tax credit on low and zero emission vehicles of up to 85% of the purchase price of thevehicle in the year the vehicle was purchased. Electric Car owners in Colorado will be able to use the state's HOV lanes without meeting the occupanyrequirements. District of Columbia (Washington D.C.) Electric Car buyers will be exempt from vehicle excise taxes, also veicle registration receives a $36 discount. Florida EV owners get unrestricted access to HOV lanes even if they don't meet occupancy requirements. NO TAX BREAK. Georgia Owners of a Zero Emission Vehicle can get an income tax credit of 20% of the vehicle's purchase priceor $5000 whichever is less in the year of purchase. Businesses that install an electric car charging station can get a tax credit of 10% of the charger's price or$2500, whichever is less Electric car owners in Georgia get unrestricted access to HOV lanes Illinois A tax rebate of up to 80% of the vehicle's cost or $4000, whichever is less, is available for Illinois electric car buyers. Kansas Kansas electric car buyers can enjoy a tax credit of up $2400 for vehicles up to 10,000 pounds. Over10,000 pounds the credit gets higher but we can find any electric cars that weigh in over 5 tons. Louisiana A 20% tax credit is available for electric cars registered in the state.
