CINCINNATI – Sheet Dynamics, Ltd, a high-tech research and development firm, today announced that it has changed its name to Etegent Technologies, Ltd. The company, which was founded in 1996 by two University of Cincinnati PhD Engineering researchers, specializes in integrated mechatronic systems design and research in physics-based data exploitation in a variety of areas, including non-destructive test data management, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. Among Etegent’s customers are Ball Aerospace, Emerson Electric, General Electric, Procter & Gamble, SAIC, the U.S. Air Force, and the U.S. Navy. In addition to the name change, Etegent has also launched its new web site at www.etegent.com.

Etegent’s research and development efforts extend across multiple disciplines and industries, including automatic target recognition using radar and LADAR sensors for the military, health monitoring of turbine engines in aircraft, and nondestructive inspection data management and mining; to name a few. Among the company’s recent projects and past successes are developing self-verification capability for process instrumentation sold around the globe by a division of Emerson Electric; receiving six SBIR awards from the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory to develope next generation radar and LADAR surveillance and automatic target recognition capability; and the development of an experiment performed on board the International Space Station for stabilizing optical space platforms. The company also has 12 patents and has three pending patent applications.
