May 28, 2010 - PRLog -- Agency owner Dick McKenna represented Allstate Insurance Company at the Agents for Change Conference on May 18th and 19th in Washington, DC.

Agents for Change is comprised of more than 7,000 insurance agents and brokers working together to reform insurance regulation. Under a national insurance charter, producers could choose to continue under the existing state-based licensing and regulatory structure or they could choose to be licensed and regulated by one entity (the federal government). Allstate fully supports modernizing the 19th century state-based insurance regulations because it would create a vastly more efficient regulatory system.

McKenna, whose office at 149 Mineola Avenue in Roslyn Heights was again designated a Premier Service Agency for 2010, has continued to shine as both a business and community leader on Long Island. Earlier this year he was appointed to serve on the Field Vice President Advisory Council for Allstate’s New York regional office, working with Field Vice President Bob Holden and the 27 other council members to develop winning strategies that increase agency owners’ abilities to service customers. McKenna was also invited to attend the company’s Leader’s Forum 2010, and was nominated for Allstate’s Ray Lynch Community Service Award, which recognizes agency owners dedicated to making positive contributions in the communities they serve.

Adelphi University has named McKenna the honoree for their 22nd Annual Golf Classic on October 4, 2010 in Hempstead, an event which raises thousands of dollars for student scholarships at the university. He has also been active as a board member, volunteer and supporter for charitable organizations including the Eden II School for Autistic Children in Plainview and The David Center in Baldwin (both of which provide guidance and education to families with autistic children), as well as the Make-a-Wish Foundation. McKenna also coaches National Junior Baseball and Amateur Athletic Union Basketball.

Dick McKenna resides in Farmingdale with his wife of 30 years, Suzanne McKenna, and is the father of two sons, ages 23 and 21.
