Philadelphia Periodontist, Dr. Stephen Brown- Awarded With The Distinguished Alumni Award of Merit

May 28, 2010 - PRLog -- As an alumnus of the Post Graduate Division of The University of Pennsylvania’s prestigious School of Dental Medicine, Philadelphia dentist, Dr. I. Stephen Brown has already made a name for himself through his outstanding patient care and his academic contributions. However, his excellence was further recognized recently when he was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award of Merit by the School of Dental Medicine.

Granted in recognition of Dr. Brown’s years of service to the school’s Department of Graduate Periodontics, the award also serves as further acknowledgement of his contributions to dentistry professionally, clinically, academically and through dental organizations. A full professor of Periodontics for more than twenty years, Dr. Brown remarked in his acceptance speech that “teaching is part of my genetic makeup. I couldn’t imagine my professional life without it.”

Attending the School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Brown earned specialty degrees in both periodontics and Adult Orthodontics. Having lectured widely and contributed  publications to the dental literature, Dr. Brown’s commitment to public health and education continues to expand. He was also recently appointed Clinical Professor of Periodontology and Dental Implantology in the Graduate Division of his alma mater, Temple University’s School of Dentistry.

Dr. Brown also maintains a successful private practice, The Perio Group, in Philadelphia. He has frequently been acknowledged as one of the leaders in Dental Implants in Philadelphia. He and his staff are dedicated to providing all patients with life long dental health and beautiful smiles, merging expertise and state-of-the-art technology to serve every patient’s needs.
