An estimated 45% of the online video audience is between 33-54 and another 20% are 55+, according to recent statistics from GigaOM Pro and reported by NewTeeVee. That puts a large chunk of online video watchers in the Boomer and Gen X demographic.
But where is the programming to match the audience? Last month, Avignon Bound Media International released Red Carpet Run (http://redcarpetrun.tv), an eight-minute entertainment trivia show that targets the large crowd of 33-55+ by introducing a seldom-seen genre to the web-series space: game shows.
Now generations that lived through shows like Let’s Make A Deal, Press Your Luck, and the early days of Jeopardy have a chance to enjoy a new game show made exclusively for the Net.
Red Carpet Run borrows from the best with a twist — celeb-obsessed contestants are put through the ultimate trivial pursuit, challenging their knowledge of all things Hollywood as they run their final round – high speed! – on a moving treadmill.
Episodes of Red Carpet Run feature the TV and movie trivia people love to titter (and Twitter) about, hosted by the Food Network’s comedian extraordinaire Noah Starr. New episodes are posted Thursday mornings on http://redcarpetrun.tv — perfect for those suffering from a work-weary week to tune in before coffee break.
