CAMS Enterprise™ LMS for Covenant Theological wins IMS Global Learning Impact award

Award recognizes lifelong learning capability, efficiency, cost savings, improved retention

May 26, 2010 - PRLog -- St. Louis — Three Rivers Systems Inc., the only provider of Web-based campus administrative software systems exclusively for higher education, and Covenant Theological Seminary, in St. Louis, have won a prestigious Learning Impact Recognition award in the established initiatives category.  Presented by IMS Global Learning Consortium, Inc., the award recognizes the school’s implementation of Three Rivers Systems’ CAMS Enterprise ™ Learning Management System for creation of an optimal learning environment.

IMS Global’s Learning Impact program recognizes outstanding applications of technology that take on the most significant challenges facing the global education and learning industries. Final judging took place May 18-20 in Long Beach, Calif. at the group’s annual three-day conference, Learning Impact.

As an entirely Web-based system that incorporates course management into a comprehensive academic enterprise resource planning — ERP — system with a single shared database, CAMS Enterprise breaks new ground in higher education administration. Course management is fully integrated with the CAMS student information system to make the administration of online courses quick and easy, and provide students with immediate access to courses when they register. It includes online testing, shared video lectures, electronic document exchange, grade book, automatic course evaluations and many other features.

CAMS provides unlimited Web-based access to students, faculty and staff. It extends the capabilities of course management delivery to make all aspects of student administration, including comprehensive online course delivery, fully accessible in real-time from any Web-browser.

CAMS Enterprise makes it simple for institutions to extend their learning opportunities significantly since the entire CAMS Enterprise system is 100 percent Web-based. Students and faculty around the world simply use a browser to access their courses. Since CAMS Enterprise is built with Microsoft’s Internet technologies, including SQL Server 2008, there are no limitations on the number of users that can access the system and no limit on how much it can grow.

To earn a finalist nomination, Covenant’s CAMS Enterprise implementation was required to meet several rigorous criteria. These include enabling lifelong learning and improved efficiency, achieving cost savings that are passed on to learners, supporting institution-wide usage, improving retention or graduation rates and much more.
