Syncrony comes to the virtual aid of COMENSA

Management at COMENSA required a higher level of functionality in a new website in order to effectively manage the registration of new members as well as to deliver valuable content to existing members.

Online experts at Syncrony, a Gauteng-based provider of web design and content management services, have provided invaluable online service and support to the Coaches and Mentors of South Africa (COMENSA), an umbrella association for individual and corporate providers, buyers and trainers of coaching and mentoring services.

Management at COMENSA required a higher level of functionality in a new website in order to effectively manage the registration of new members as well as to deliver valuable content to existing members.

Additionally, the request to rework the organisation’s online presence was also made in order to inform and educate the market at large and also accurately reflect COMENSA’s progress.

One of the main requirements was to facilitate a ‘Find a Member’ search component. Howard Rybko, CEO at Syncrony, said the project took two hundred hours of development and over one hundred hours of Web design time.

“The registration of new members was a major source of frustration both for the organisation and its members. The old site required members application forms to be downloaded and printed. Printed forms were then filled in by prospective members and faxed to Comensa administration offices.  These forms had to be recaptured and then processed for payment,” said Rybko.

“The new Syncrony designed online system allows members to apply and pay online. The built in workflow of the online system dovetails into Comensa’s offline booking system and allows members rapid access to online resources as soon at their membership applications have been accepted.”

The old site contained vast resources relating to Coaching and Mentoring. However access to these documents was often difficult owing to a complex navigation structure and unintuitive layouts.

Syncrony redesigned the old site and the new site (www.comensa.org.za) thereby ensured easy access to resources.

“This was an extensive project that involved over one thousand users. There are registered users who access to certain content on the site as well as COMENSA members who have full access to the coaching and mentoring resources on the site,” added Rybko.

Megan Hudson, marketing manager at COMENSA, said Syncrony has truly benefited the organisation in strengthening its online presence and enhancing processes critical to its fundamental operations.
