Memorial Day Vigil: A Lone Bag Piper Amid a Sea of U.S. Flags Honors Fallen Heroes

A bag piper and hundreds standing in silence with lowered U.S. flags will fill the sidewalk at Warner Center Park in Woodland HIlls, CA during an hour-long evening tribute to those police, fire or military, who died in the service of their nation.

May 27, 2010 - PRLog -- A lone bag piper will play inspirational and military music to accompany a silent, sidewalk vigil sponsored by the San Fernando Valley Patriots on Memorial Day from 6 to 7 p.m. at Warner Center Park, 5800 Topanga Canyon Blvd., Woodland Hills, CA.

Hundreds of attendees will stand holding lowered flags to honor those in uniformed services (police, fire and military), who died in the service of their communities or country.

Members of the Boy Scouts, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and local police and fire departments are expected to attend the vigil, which will include the playing of traditional songs including: "Amazing Grace" and "Taps".

Pay parking is available at nearby structures or free curbside parking is available within short walking distances to the park. It is recommended that attendees arrive by 5:30 p.m. U.S. flags will be available for loan by the SFVP to adults without flags.

No candidates. No speeches. No posters. No politics. Just respect.
