Kolesar & Leatham adds Michael D. Davidson as partner

May 25, 2010 - PRLog -- LAS VEGAS – Kolesar & Leatham, a Las Vegas-based business law firm, announced today that longtime Southern Nevada trial attorney Michael D. Davidson has joined the firm as a partner experienced in both civil and white collar criminal cases.

Davidson has been practicing law in Southern Nevada since 1979 after receiving his law degree, with distinction, from the University of Arizona College of Law. Following 20 years in private practice as a civil and criminal trial lawyer, Davidson worked for five years in the Clark County District Attorney’s Office as an assistant district attorney supervising the Civil and Family Support Divisions, coroner’s inquests and death penalty assessments. After a brief return to private practice, Davidson was named chief deputy city attorney, Criminal Division, for North Las Vegas in December 2004.



A member of the State Bars of Nevada and Arizona, Davidson is admitted to practice in all federal courts including the United States Supreme Court. During his career, Davidson has been an active member in the local legal community, serving as a Juvenile Court alternate referee, small claims hearing master and Nevada Supreme Court settlement judge. He also served two terms on the Board of Governors for the State Bar of Nevada and is a member of Nevada Children’s Justice Task Force.



A seasoned trial attorney, Davidson has received numerous awards and commendations, including the highest legal and ethical national rating from Martindale-Hubbell of “AV Preeminent.”  Davidson has received the Clark County Pro Bono Outstanding Domestic Relations Attorney Award, CASA Guardian Ad Litem Award and the Pro Bono Access to Justice Award. Local business publications have featured him in their “Who’s Who in Practicing Attorneys,” “Who’s Who in Southern Nevada Business,” and “Elite Attorneys” issues.



Davidson is also on the Board of Directors for the Las Vegas Natural History Museum and participates in the Nevada High School Mock Trial Competition.
