Joe Sernio to Attend Staten Island Film Festival

New York New Jersey Actor Joe Sernio will be attending The Staten Island Film Festival to promote his most recent film "Mourning On Charlotte Street"

May 25, 2010 - PRLog -- Actor Joe Sernio most recognized for his work on such shows as Love Monkey, Haunting Evidence, and All My Children will be attending the weekend festivities in Staten Island to promote and support both The Staten Island Film Festival, and his new film "Mourning on Charlotte Street".

The film is a true and tragic story about Nic's uncle and father on the hard streets of the Bronx in 1954 A teenagers body lies twisted on stairs behind a deserted alley in the Bronx with a bullet hole in the back of his head execution style Why did fate hand Nicky Santoriello an honor student such a tragic death.

The film has gone on to be accepted into many of the major film festivals and has so far won Best Drama and Viewers Choice for Best film at this year’s Garden State Film Festival.

Sernio says "Freedom Land Films was amazing to work with, we met as friends and co-workers and now we're just one big family". This was Sernio's first time working with award winning director Frank Calo who he said was a pleasure to work with and directed by.

Soprano actor and close friend of Sernio's Artie Pasquale says  "Joe brings a natural, charismatic manner to each scene. His look ,nuances and delivery reminds one of the great James Dean."

Sernio just interviewed with Soap Central about his recent work on All My Children. His time in Pine Valley ended on December 11th 2009 when the show moved to LA. "I don’t want to leave soaps just yet, I was actually just getting started so as I do film I’m sticking with television as well" Sernio says.

Not only will Sernio be supporting "Mourning on Charlotte Street" but also his other film which is also in this years festival "Transition" a true story about High school junior Chris Jamison had it all. He was captain of the lacrosse team, had a great girlfriend, and interest from many colleges for a potential athletic scholarship. In one diagnosis, it all changed. Cancer took everything but his life. Now a senior, Chris looks to gain back his starting spot on the lacrosse team, although his body still feels the effects of the chemotherapy. Will Chris be able to piece together the life he almost lost? Sernio plays coach Tom Gallaway in the film.

Sernio is moving quick and quickly becoming a big name in Independent  Film and we wish him all the best success in his future.
