Santucci to represent What’s Up Interactive in North Georgia, East Tennessee

May 25, 2010 - PRLog -- Dave Santucci, former vice president of marketing and communications for the Georgia Aquarium, has accepted a new business development role with What’s Up Interactive, an Atlanta interactive marketing agency with the Georgia Aquarium, the Georgia Lottery, Americas Mart and The Coca-Cola Company as clients.

“We had a great working relationship with Dave at the Georgia Aquarium and he knows the many capabilities of What’s Up Interactive,” said What’s Up Interactive CEO Richard Warner. “He knows what companies need to succeed in today’s marketplace. He will be effective in marketing our strategic digital development services to businesses and organizations throughout the Dalton and Chattanooga areas.”

“What’s Up Interactive was a key partner in the integration of the Georgia Aquarium website, e-communications, social media, mobile marketing and promotions,” said Santucci. “I look forward to representing Richard’s talented team as I reach out to companies in North Georgia and East Tennessee.”

Santucci was responsible for driving Georgia Aquarium attendance and growing world-wide reputation through marketing, public relations and community outreach. His team generated approximately two billion impressions worldwide in the Georgia Aquarium’s first year of operation.

A former news producer, Santucci was with CNN in Atlanta for seven years. Working with Aviation and Space Correspondent Miles O’Brien, he won the Space Communicator and National Headliner Awards and was nominated for the Walter Sullivan and David Perlman Awards, each for Excellence in Science Journalism. And he was recognized by the Emmy Awards for coverage of the events of September 11, 2001.

Santucci has been a member of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Communications Committee, the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau Communications Committee, the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, the Public Relations Society of America and the Atlanta Press Club.

Moving to Chattanooga in 2009, Santucci established Signal Multimedia, a marketing/public relations/new media firm specializing in hospitality and tourism. Signal clients have included the Tennessee Aquarium, Chattanooga Choo Choo, Chattanooga Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Creative Discovery Museum.
