May 25, 2010 - PRLog -- JF Hillebrand, the leading logistics provider in the global wines and spirits industry, has been named the Logistics Company of the Year at the Drinks Business Awards 2010. The awards were announced at the London International Wine Fair.

The judges were impressed by JF Hillebrand’s commitment to continuous improvement and said that the company has consolidated its position as a leader in its field, demonstrating a “competitive, professional and friendly service.”

And as one judge commented after reading the entry: “They know what they’re doing. They’re constantly adapting to meet the needs of our industry. They get what the wine industry is all about and work hard to be a part of it.”

This is the fourth time that JF Hillebrand has won the award in the last six years. Managing Director David Mawer attributes the company’s success to the dedication and expertise of the global beverage logistics team.

“We offer a service to the wine and spirit industry that the general logistics companies cannot match. We have also invested heavily in developing new services to meet changing market requirements, such as the increased demand for bulk wine transportation, for which we designed and manufactured our unique Vinbulk solution.”

JF Hillebrand’s full load and groupage services for cased product give importers and retailers the flexibility to ship exactly what they need, when they need it – providing a totally reliable and cost effective means of minimising inventory levels; a major concern in the current economic environment.

The company employs more than 1,500 professionals in 44 offices covering all the main wine-growing regions. The company reported a throughput of almost 268,000 containers in 2009 - equating to 1.4 billion cases of wine. It has over 8,500 customers globally and processed almost 400,000 orders in 2009.
