May 24, 2010 - PRLog -- With summer fast approaching, A Simple Daisy would like to celebrate the spirit and accomplishments of the women of New Jersey as they prepare their search for the ultimate Jersey Girl. The reality shows with Snookie and the Housewives can be amusing, fun and entertaining but we all know there is so much more to Jersey Girls than what is depicted on television. A Simple Daisy is hoping to find the real women of New Jersey who are making a positive impact in their communities and represent all the wonderful qualities of the Garden State.

In conjunction with the launch of the Simply Jersey t-shirt line, A Simple Daisy founder Tracy Redling, herself a Jersey Girl, is creating a nationwide contest for women 21 years of age or older. To enter, log onto  www.asimpledaisy.com and click on the Jersey Girl logo to find the entry form and official rules. Purchase of a Jersey Girl ($21) or Simply Jersey  t-shirt ($18 / $21) is required to enter the contest with all profits donated to the Community Foodbank of New Jersey.  Contestants must submit their entry form with a photo wearing their Jersey Girl or Simply Jersey t-shirt telling us in 500 words or less why they believe they are the ultimate Jersey Girl.  Instead of a photo, contestants can also submit a 30 second video of themselves performing charitable work or perhaps posing in front of their favorite Jersey icon, landmark, restaurant, beach, or store wearing a Jersey Girl or Simply Jersey t-shirt from A Simple Daisy explaining why they believe they are the ultimate Jersey Girl.   All entry forms can be sent via e-mail to jerseygirl@asimpledaisy.com or mailed directly to A Simple Daisy at “In Search of the Ultimate Jersey Girl” Contest, P.O. Box 474, Far Hills, NJ  07931-0474.  Photos and videos can be e-mailed or uploaded directly to the official “In Search of the Ultimate Jersey Girl” Facebook page (www.facebook.com/pages/In-Search-of-the-Ultimate-Jersey-Girl).

The contest officially opens on Memorial Day Weekend 2010 and runs through Labor Day Weekend 2010. The winner of the contest will receive   accommodations at the beautiful Borgata Hotel in Atlantic City compliments of A Simple Daisy and will become the official Simply Jersey model for A Simple Daisy for 2011. Jersey Girl and Simply Jersey t-shirts can also be found at The Rebecca Collection in downtown Bernardsville and in various retail locations around the state.

“Many of the TV shows today portray New Jersey women in one dimension,” explains Redling “but there is much more to us than what Jersey Shore and the Housewives of NJ depict. I wanted to create the Jersey Girl and Simply Jersey t-shirts to express pride in our state and to celebrate the amazing accomplishments of New Jersey women. The contest is open to all women of New Jersey including women born in New Jersey but currently reside elsewhere yet still exhibit the essence, attitude, and spirit  of their native state. Once a Jersey Girl, always a Jersey Girl.”

Gaining inspiration from her daughter Lucia who is Chinese, Tracy Redling started a t-shirt line specifically for families with adopted children from China. The “Building Families” category consists of bright red tees declaring “Worth the Wait,” “We’ll Be there Soon….To Bring You Home,” “Lucky Mommy,” “Lucky Grandma” and then tees for the whole family spelling out mother, father, sister, brother, grandma and grandpa in Chinese symbols. The whimsical graphics are eye-catching and colorful.

The t-shirts categories range from a patriotic peace sign in the American Dreams category to a pink ribbon in the Find A Cure Now line to those who love theatre, collect fountain pens, and want to “think green and plant a daisy” which comes on an organic tee.

“There is really no rhyme or reason to my different categories of t-shirts. They consist of things that I am simply passionate about. I am particularly excited about tying the various charities into our t-shirt lines. Currently, we have partnered with many wonderful charities,” explains Redling.

Actively working to have as many organic and environmentally friendly    products as possible, the folks at A Simple Daisy will guide and assist businesses in their “green” efforts. They can also assist with fundraising opportunities for schools, charities, and other organizations.
