A BLACKBURN-based security firm is revolutionising the alarm industry with the UK’s first intelligent security system.
Developers at 4i Security have created a ground breaking software security system that communicates and reports using broadband technology.
They are the first and only company in the UK to be able to offer online access to all customers, enabling clients to log on to any computer and manage their security systems across multiple sites through an Online Management Console (OMC).
4i Security’s system is so advanced that it is already cutting the number of false alarms by 98%.
This in turn is dramatically slashing the number of call-outs, preserving Police & Fire responses and freeing companies of the expense of a costly infrastructure of managers, technicians and repairers.
Clients now benefiting from using the 4i Security system, include a number of Northwest & Yorkshire based schools, golf clubs, national bed retailer Sleepmasters, Leeds City Council and Liverpool’s Radio City part of the Bauer Media Group.
Their technology is also fast gaining industry recognition and 4i Security was recently shortlisted in this year’s Big Chip Awards for Best Newcomer and for Best Application of New Technology.
Mark Slater, 4i Security managing director, said the technology had taken more than three years to develop and perfect.
He said: “We are not just getting this right – we are getting this exceptionally right.
“It is the only intelligent alarm system on the market and offers the most modern monitoring and security system that this industry has ever seen.
“This software has a brain – it knows when the alarm is false, and is so advanced that it can be used to control lighting, heating, air conditioning and can even lock an entire building remotely which eliminates the need for paid for key holders.
“The whole system is engineered around safety, protection and client convenience and we have built the highest due diligence into the system.
“It is even being used to automate Fire Alarm Tests, Door Release Confirmation and Integrity of Maglocks, which many clients are finding real added value in producing reports to aid meeting their Health and Safety compliance.
“The industry must look to the future and how to provide a comprehensive monitoring and security system. 4i Security is doing just that and is fast securing its future as the industry leader.”
4i Security’s system also eliminates the need for a dedicated phone line. This saves the client money and most importantly safeguards against the failure of older alarm systems during the upgrade from analogue to digital networks.
The 4i Security system is backed up via the mobile phone networks ensuring connection is not lost even if the broadband is offline.
Mr Slater added: “It is highly concerning that there are thousands of companies out there who have no idea that the monitoring of their alarm systems may potentially fail when the digital upgrade is commenced in their area.
“More needs to be done to educate alarm company customers of the problems of out-dated technology and show them what new technology has been developed.
“Our technology is saving our clients money, but more than that clients want to deal with us because we are friendly, modern and transparent.
“For too long this industry has been accused of being unfriendly and stagnant and 4i Security is working hard to change that.
“We are looking to the future and to providing a security system that is second to none.”
