DTLR, Atlanta Falcons players Chauncey Davis and Jonathan Babineaux along with Atlanta native and former Baltimore Raven Daniel Wilcox will host the 4th Annual DTLR Football Clinic on Saturday, June 12, beginning at 9 a.m. The camp will be held at Decatur High School (310 N. McDonough Street). This free one-day football camp, benefitting 300 area youth, will include comprehensive football drills for student-athletes entering grades 8 – 12 during the 2010 – 2011 school year. The camp will also offer a complimentary lunch for participants, a fun morning warm-up for parents and a recruiting seminar for parents and student- athletes.
“DTLR realizes sports is often time the dreams of many urban youth,” said DTLR Community Outreach Manager Sherri Goodall. “We want to help them reach their goals; so, we have partnered with several outstanding football players to help them increase their skills on the field. It only makes sense to bring sports, professional athletes and DTLR’s community efforts together in a way benefits everyone involved.”
Camp participants will perform agility drills, offensive and defensive fundamentals broken down by position and seven-on-seven passing drills.
“This camp offers students a unique hands-on training experience that will expose them to the same techniques and drills I used in college and that I continue to use today in the NFL,” added Davis. “It remains a priority for me and my foundation to give back and make a positive impact in the lives of young people.”

After lunch, parents and students will receive an overview of the college recruiting process by a representative from National Collegiate Scouting Association (NCSA) and have an opportunity to engage Davis, Babineaux and Wilcox during a question and answer session.
“It takes more than on-the-field action to get from high school to the pros,” said Wilcox, who is excited to host the camp at his alma mater, Decatur High School. “It was important that the camp offered comprehensive on-the-field drills and information on what is required academically for them to succeed past high school; they are students before they are athletes.”
Adds Babineaux: "DTLR, Chauncey, Daniel and I wanted to offer a football camp to ensure that kids in our community have the opportunity to participate in a quality sports camp with NFL players; it was especially important that it was free for those kids who may not be able to afford a camp because of these tough economic times. I look forward to helping the kids have fun while learning football skills.”
Parents are strongly encouraged to pre-register their child for the camp. You can pre-register on Wednesday, March 26, during the camp registration event at the DTLR store in South Dekalb Mall (2731 Candler Road) from 6 – 8 pm.
