How to Throw a Party

If you’re planning to have everyone and their brother in, just post your invite on Facebook events. But, if you want to make that more personal, stick to good ol’ email. Either way, the idea is to let the right people know, it’s happening!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - May 24, 2010 -
Think D-Day’s far? Think again!

• It’s time to start your first list. Start counting your friends and figure out whom you want to invite (or not, for that matter).

•If you’re planning to have everyone and their brother in, just post your invite on Facebook events. But, if you want to make that more personal, stick to good ol’ email. Either way, the idea is to let the right people know, it’s happening!

Beginning to feel a few butterflies?

Don’t worry, it helps to get the adrenaline going.

• Time for the next list – your food and drinks. Whether you’re handling it all on your own or getting help , draw up your menu card

• If you’re planning BIG, then you’ll probably want to call a few bartenders. This way you can get to enjoy your own party too, besides juggling the drinks.

• Size does matter. Whether it’s the parking space, the dining area or the dance floor. Check out these arrangements to make sure you can fit everyone in

• Bring on the next list - Music & Dance. But again, if you’re planning BIG, you might want to get your sound systems up and call in the DJs to get ‘em moving on the dance floor

Think you’re losing your mind?

You’re just getting into the right frame of mind, now.

• And here’s the fun part (assuming you’re throwing a party because you can afford it) – go buy half the supermarket to stock up on all that would be needed during the party – food, drinks and supplies

• You’re not preparing for a war, but it’s probably still better to stash away everything that costs a bomb (so to speak) or cannot be replaced .

• Unless you’ve invited your neighbours too, you should probably let them know to expect some noise.

• Tidy up the place, though it’ll all get eventually dirty again!

And finally…just breathe easy. You’ll be fine!

• The good news is – no lists today! Just get your gladrags out and get ready for the show!

• You may have cops for friends, but you definitely don’t want them reading you the riot act, so do keep your ears on the noise level

• You remember we didn’t prepare for a war? So, if conversations are taking the wrong turn, just break into a moonwalk (or your version of it) right there! At least, it’ll get people to change the topic?

• And, the one golden rule: DON’T let your friends drink and drive

Congrats! You did it!

• And now, it’s time to get the brooms and mops out of the closet – for a change. We did tell you it would get dirty

• While you’re at it, you should, call all those who helped dirty it – just kidding – thank all those who turned up.

•Go ahead, celebrate the success of the party. How? Throw another one, of course!
