May 24, 2010 - PRLog -- www.shcri.com - Valves are mainly demanded by the petrochemical industry, electricity sector, metallurgy sector, chemical industry and urban construction sector. After decades of development, Chinese valve industry now can provide about 12 categories of valves, covering over 3,000 types and over 4,000 specifications. As valves are products of low profit margin, the competition on the valve market is very intense. Presently, there are already over 2,000 valve enterprises with relatively large scale in Chinese market, of which most are situated in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and the Central Plain of China.
Presently, Domestic key manufacturers of valves can design and manufacture valves according to some international standards like ISO, DIN and AWWA standards. Further, products of some manufacturers have attained the international advanced level.
However, Chinese valve industry is exposed to a few problems. On one hand, some operators will purchase valves without factory names and addresses, and then print brands and certificates of famous manufacturers on them. This inevitably jeopardizes the reputation of qualified valve enterprises. On the other hand, some operators will coat used valves with paint and resell them, bringing about potential safety hazards to construction projects.
Nevertheless, the valve industry is undergoing adjustment and improvement. Specifically, at the beginning of 2010, in the centralized bidding of medium and high pressure valves by China National Petroleum Corporation, 35 valve enterprises successfully won the bid, becoming the qualified valve suppliers of China National Petroleum Corporation. This will change the disorderly competition of valve purchase in the petroleum industry and effectively improve the quality of valves.
During June 11th-13th, 2010, China International Valve Expo and Forum 2010 will be held in Shanghai. It is a platform for organizations, enterprises and experts related to valves to gather together. Taking the opportunity of Shanghai Expo 2010, domestic and foreign valve enterprises can find out new opportunities in the integration of diversified ideas, thereby promoting the innovation and further development of the valve industry.
As to the development tendency of Chinese valve market, firstly, as construction of large projects becomes more common, big-bore high-pressure valves and reducing valves are demanded, as well as quick open-and-close gate valves. Secondly, in accordance with the trend of energy saving, subcritical and supercritical valves will also achieve development. Thirdly, in urban construction, more attention is paid to the energy conservation and environmental protection. Thus, former low pressure valves, especially iron ones will be replaced by environment-friendly valves such as equilibrium valve and metal-seat butterfly valve. Fourthly, as pipeline transportation for oil and gas becomes common, more flat gate valves and glove valves will be demanded. Finally, for the demand from a complete set of project, valve suppliers should develop valves of many varieties and specifications. It is become a trend that one manufacturer can provide all the valves demanded in a project.
The huge valve market in China will attract numerous foreign companies. Meanwhile, domestic enterprises are making efforts to improve their valve products. In the cooperation between domestic and foreign valve enterprises, new opportunities will be presented to the industry. All these will be significant for the development of the valve industry in the long run.
