PRLog (Press Release) - May 23, 2010 -
The global trend to develop Dry Ports to service Maritime Ports has finally caught on. In 2007 SpartaMatrix was the first to design an integrated network of 4 Dry Ports (iPorts™) for the UAE. This network design was accomplished with the guidance and vision of Dubai leader Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The iPorts™ design team was lead by SpartaMatrix technology engineers, and complemented by logistics system expertise of the Sheik’s own UAE private security company and a group of insightful Computer Systems experts formerly with HP .
Both Abu Dhabi and Dubai supported this farsighted initiative to relieve the internal traffic congestions that were choking their seaside ports. The other emirates are expected to follow their example which saved money, improved safety, and reduced carbon emissions by an estimated 10 % for both ports. UAE leads Iport Network Initiative
