The www.remax.com Web site continues to rank as the most visited Internet destination among all real estate brokerage sites in the most recent ranking by Hitwise, a leading online competitive intelligence service that looks at how Web sites are used and ranks them monthly based on traffic volume.
The RE/MAX Web site climbed two spots in the April ranking after coming in 10th among all real estate sites in March. That puts RE/MAX seven spots ahead of its closest competitor, Century 21, which saw its Web site ranked 15th in April.
“With www.remax.com and our regional Web site, www.illinoisproperty.com, the RE/MAX northern Illinois network offers two outstanding destinations for buyers and sellers who want to find an agent, look at available properties or get answers to their real estate questions,” said Jim Merrion, regional director of the network.
“Using www.remax.com gives consumers access to 95 percent of multiple listing services in the United States, allowing buyers to search listings all across the Chicago area, the entire state of Illinois and all 50 states. Plus, they can look at property listings in more than 60 other nations,” he said. “Plus there are other features, such as e-mail updates and a special tool that lets buyers search for new developments, offered through illinoisproperty.com.”
According to Merrion, one factor drawing increased traffic to remax.com is the easy access it offers to listings of distressed properties, which now account for about 40 percent of all home sales nationwide.
“In addition to the listings, prospective buyers and sellers are attracted by the fact that RE/MAX agents hold more accreditations in the area of distressed properties than the agents of any competing brokerage organization,”
