Plus One Partners Pledges Support for 2010 Band Together Concert Event

May 21, 2010 - PRLog -- Plus One Partners, a Triangle-based strategic sales consulting firm that specializes in driving top-line revenue, announces its support for the ninth annual Band Together Concert Event, being held this year on May 22 outside of Raleigh’s Lincoln Theater. Plus One Partners is an official sponsor of the event whose donation will provide an educational scholarship through the event’s 2010 beneficiary, StepUp Ministries – an interfaith nonprofit organization that teaches low-income and homeless people to become self-sufficient.

Brian Baker, founder and managing partner of Plus One Partners, is also serving on the Band Together Concert Event Development Committee, a group of volunteers charged with finding sponsorship and support to fund the annual show. The committee has successfully raised over $300,000 in conjunction with StepUp Ministries.  

“I’ve been familiar with Band Together’s work for years, and having the chance to participate with the organization’s fundraising efforts has been a tremendous experience,” said Baker. “It’s an organization with the sole purpose of giving back to nonprofits that make a difference in the lives of people in our community, so we’re very proud to support this effort through Plus One Partners. The concert event is a huge success every year with thousands of local fans and supporters, and we’re sure this year will be no exception.”

The annual concert has become a mainstay of the Raleigh music community since it was first created in 2001. This year’s event will be headlined by Michael Franti and Spearhead, along with the bands One eskimO and The Old Ceremony. A late-night after-show party inside Lincoln Theatre will showcase Holy Ghost Tent Revival and Anoop Desai, a finalist on FOX’s American Idol.

Band Together is a Raleigh-based nonprofit originally created in an effort to raise money and support for the victims of the 9/11 terror attacks. The organization has been recognized with awards from multiple groups for their outstanding work with local charities around the Triangle.
