EASTON, PA (May 21, 2010) - Lawrence Peter "Yogi" Berra was one of the greatest baseball players to play the game. While in uniform for the New York Yankees for most of his career, he was a 15-time all-star and three-time Most Valuable Player along with setting the most World Series game appearances with 75.

Now, a statue will be built in his honor for everything that he has done for America’s favorite past time. On Monday May 24th, the Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center will be hosting a press conference to unveil the rendering of the statue. The conference is scheduled to start at 11:00 am where Berra himself will speak to all in attendance.

“This sculpture of Yogi will be a wonderful fixture for our new Museum & Learning Center,” said Dave Kaplan, Museum director. “It’s really an iconic rendition of a true American icon.  Most importantly it will be here for future generations to admire, and hopefully inspire them to live an exemplary life.”
