New RTA Claims Process Causes Chaos

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - May 21, 2010 -
A new process which is designed to streamline the whole procedure for making a compensation claim following a road traffic accident is currently causing chaos and gridlock in the system.

Nicholas Jervis, Director of 1stClaims says:

"Other than insurance companies, individuals or solicitors representing them were happy with the current system for making a claim for compensation. However, it was decided that a new procedure was needed to streamline the whole process and keep all of the information in one place, on a centralised computer system. This came into effect on 30th April 2010 and is still not operational. This means any victims trying to make a claim now will be faced with delay which is wholly uneccessary."

The procedure starts with the solicitor representing the road traffic accident victim entering all of the claim details into the system. However, many solicitors are still waiting for the code which they need to be able to access the system.
"It seems to me that this is just another example of change for change sake. Not only that, but if a new system is to be implemented surely it has to be tested thoroughly first? This system was due to come in at the beginning of April, but they realised it was not ready, so it was delayed to 30th April.

It is still not ready. Surely the whole scheme should be scrapped and people can carry on making claims in the way that they have done so for many, many years without problems?"

It is accepted that it is unlikely that the scheme will be scrapped, but you have to question the wisdom of introducing a scheme which could cause delay to thousands of innocent victims.
