The song 'We Are England' has been created 'for the people by the people' and is a great football anthem for English fans around the world. The imaginative track has a catchy rock tune featuring John Motson and the boys do a great job mixing their Brit swagger with recent English footy highlights for their video footage.
Mark Bridge and Chris Penny came up with the idea to try and break the boundaries of the music industry back in 2009, after fearing another re-release of previous football tracks such as ‘Three Lions', and surprisingly their entire project has been funded with a budget of just 200 pounds. The track has been recorded and produced at home, using available techniques to anyone with a PC and Internet connection.
Mark Bridge - Band Member, Hope Street Park , states “We thought that this had already been achieved with the Christmas No.1 ‘Rage Against the Machine’, but Rage against the Machine and Joe McElderry are both signed by SonyBMG, so Simon Cowell and SonyBMG couldn't lose. This isn't something that we are against or condemn but sooner or later things have to change for the future of our music industry and for up and coming musicians like ourselves. This is a great opportunity for us to try and make such an achievement and we will be truly grateful for any support given by the nation… Come on England!!!”
The group are urging people to purchase ‘We Are England’ digitally through iTunes after its single release on the 31st May. The song can also be downloaded immediately for only 79p from ditto music!
