Gods And Gunsmoke Introduces A Unique Style Of Music

Gods & Gunsmoke began in August, 2008.  Original members Kaleb Fannin and Nic Black brought in Jeremy Farish, Derek Land and Nigel Combs soon after.  Their style of music is thrash, punk, rock and indie all rolled into one.  It’s the musicians group of groups with 5 talented individuals bringing their styles together.   In the span of only a few months, the band had already played ten shows and written nine songs with many hours spent writing and practicing.  Their goal is simple - make the music that highlight who they really are and tell it to the world.

Gods & Gunsmoke lead single, “Bring Along Your Youth” is from their self titled CD.  This song is about how people tech their children to be like them.  It is aimed more at the middle-east where children are running around with assault weapons with no regard for human life.  When you listen to this song, you hear the fear and anger.  Its rhythm, beat and overall energy is in response to the lyrics.   This song is representative of all Gods & Gunsoke’s songs.  Their storytelling abilities are almost like watching a movie.  The vision is clear – all you need to do is listen.  

There are some technical interventions that make Gods & Gunsmoke stand out from the rest.  They utilize unorthodox chord shapes, polyrhythms, odd time sigs, heavy palm muting and quick scales, which are a common thread in their song arrangements.  They also have a love of many types of music – from Amy Whinehouse to Death to Radiohead to Meshuggah.  They are constantly evolving with their music.  

This CD was released in fall, 2009 and has received very positive comments.  

Gunds & Gunsmoke are ready to begin recording again.  They are looking forward to a possible to playing as many shows as they can this summer.  There is no plan on touring at this time.  

They have also shared the stage with bands such as My Children My Bride, Carnifex, Impending Doom, Endwell and Conducting From the Grace.  

Guds and Gunsmoke is currently working with A & R Select in West Hollywood, Ca. with a record deal, publishing, licensing and/or placement opportunities.
