Fernando Ortiz, M.D., Joins Visiting Physicians Association® Office in Corpus Christi, Texas

The hiring of Ortiz places him among the more than 145 highly qualified physicians available to assist in the diagnosis and ongoing medical treatment of seniors across 31 locations in nine states. Ortiz comes to VPA after working at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Corpus Christi since 1992, first as a full-time staff physician and then as a primary care physician.  He also formerly maintained a private practice where he saw 20-25 patients of all ages per day.

Ortiz earned his medical doctor degree from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru and completed his internal medicine residency at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, Conn.  He holds active licenses from the State of Texas, Drug Enforcement Administration and Department of Public Safety.  He also has active Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certificates.
