Key Hyundai of Milford Announces Partnership with Seymour Pink, A Breast Cancer Awareness Day

May 19, 2010 - PRLog -- Key Hyundai of Milford, CT is proud to announce it's partnership with Seymour Pink.  Seymour Pink Day takes place each year in Seymour, CT.  It was an idea born from loved ones left behind; family and friends of those who lost their battle with breast cancer.  The idea to have the entire community SEE MORE PINK came from the unique advantage that our town's name is Seymour.  

The mission of Seymour Pink is to unite a community in the fight against breast cancer. Through fundraising efforts, their goal is to fund breast cancer research, provide education and to empower and assist breast cancer victims and their families.

Breast cancer is a horrific disease.  This year, over 190,000 people in the United States will hear those life altering words, "You have breast cancer," and over 40,000 this year will lose their battle with this disease.  The statistics are startling:
- Every 2 and 1/2 minutes someone hears those words.
- Every 13 minutes a loved one will be lost to this disease.

Incredible progress has been made in screening and treating breast cancer - women and men have more options available to them than they did 30 years ago.  Increasing awareness, educating the public, and raising funds for research has been the foundation of the advancements that have been made since the 1970's.

The annual Seymour Pink Golf Tournament is taking place on June 12, 2010 at Woodhaven Country Club, Bethany, CT.  Key Hyundai of Milford, CT has generously donated a new Hyundai and a new set of golf clubs to the first person to get a hole in one.  "Key Hyundai continues to support the eradication of cancer through its charitable donations.  In addition to the Seymour Pink Event, we have sponsored the CT Relay for Life and CT Leukemia and Lymphoma Society marathon events,” said Jill Merriam, owner of Key Hyundai of Milford.  She went onto comment, "Key Hyundai is also incredibly involved in the fight to eradicate childhood cancer through its support of Hyundai Hope on Wheels and the Dana Farber Jimmy Fund."
