SkillStorm Associate Vice President Named University of Central Florida’s 2010 Mentor of the Year

May 18, 2010 - PRLog -- SkillStorm today announced that Associate Vice President Bill Peppler has been named 2010 Mentor of the Year by the University of Central Florida (UCF) Professional Selling Program.  The Mentor of the Year award recognizes Peppler as the program’s most outstanding mentor, as voted on by the program’s students.  Peppler was chosen from over 110 mentors currently participating in the program.  

“I am extremely honored to be recognized by this award and by these exceptional students,” said Bill Peppler, Associate Vice President of SkillStorm. “My door is always open for them for whatever they need; we even had about 20 or so students come by the SkillStorm office to check out our sales team in action during the course of the program. This year’s class has been truly impressive.”  

The UCF Professional Selling Program, previously known as the Sales Track Program, is a prestigious, specialized course offered by the UCF Marketing Department and College of Business Administration. The program allows 32 selected students to partake in rigorous sales training and preparation over the course of one academic year.  SkillStorm is a platinum sponsor of the UCF Professional Selling Program which is one of only approximately 30 specialized sales undergraduate programs in the United States.  The program offers its students a unique mentorship opportunity — each student is paired with a professional salesperson for a close-up view of the selling profession and a chance to draw on their expertise and years of experience.  Although assigned a specific mentoree, Peppler worked with nearly all the students in this year’s class.  He assisted students during mock interviews, resume and business plan writing sessions and other training classes provided by this innovative program.  Peppler recently served as a judge for the UCF College of Business 2010 Joust Business Plan Tournament.

As a UCF alumnus, Peppler also supports his Alma Matter through other UCF organizations, including a multitude of alumni organizations.  Peppler is an active member of the Central Florida Lambda Chi Alpha Alumni Association.  He is also a member of the UCF Foundation Annual Fund Committee and has been named as Director for 2010.  Peppler has been a member of the UCF Alumni Association since 1997.  On a continuous basis, Peppler makes financial contributions to the UCF Foundation and the Golden Knights Club.
