Raw Talent Screenplay Contest Announces $10,000 Grand Prize Winner
Contest Encourages Quality Work from Screenwriters with Faith-Based Scripts
Albuquerque, NM (May 17, 2010) – The Raw Talent Screenplay Contest has announced Jason Parker as the Grand Prize winner of $10,000 and an all-expense paid trip to the 2010 Gideon Media Arts Conference & Film Festival, which will take place June 3-8, 2010 in Ridgecrest, NC.
Jason Parker won the Raw Talent Screenplay Contest with his script, “Matter of Life.” Contest sponsor, Tracy Trost, notified Parker via Skype on May 15, 2010, and was able to record his reaction on video. Trost said, “When I was able to tell Jason that he had won the contest, it was one of those moments that I will never forget. To help someone start on the path to fulfilling their dream is very rewarding.”
The Grand Prize winner was determined by a panel of industry professionals, including Jim Stovall (award-winning author of The Ultimate Gift), CJ Powers (award-winning writer/director), Christina Denton (winner of the $50,000 Kairos Prize for screenwriting in 2009), Tracy Trost (founder of Trost Moving Pictures) and Eric Highland (CEO of HOSFU LC).
The online community was also invited to read the finalist scripts and vote for their favorite on Facebook. Hundreds of electronic votes were cast over a 15-day period. The votes were considered by the panel of judges as they determined the Grand Prize winner.
The $10,000 Grand Prize will be awarded at the 2010 Gideon Media Arts Conference & Film Festival Banquet, on June 7, 2010 in Ridgecrest, NC. Tracy Trost (Founder, Trost Moving Pictures ) and Eric Highland (CEO, HOSFU LC) will be in attendance.
